how do i transfer photos from iphone12 to ssd and will this also keep info of the photo taken location

I transfered from pics app from ipad to ssd.

it seems that i can only select max apprx 60 pics at one time to transfer by cable to ssd. More than that takes a lot of time!!!

maybe i do it all to complicated. Note that my pics are already in icloud, but i do want then on ssd also. Note also my problem that syncing does not show any progress. I still ve 45 GB free space on my iphone.

so i transfered by cable some pics to ssd, where i noticed that the details, dates, location ect of the pics were not transfered to ssd.

i heard i should be able to transfer with a lightning to usb-c cable, but then i eead somewhere i need an adapture with it. I m hesitant as i do nt want to damage my iphone or ssd.

Any suggestions are very welcome obviously to improve my technical knowhow.

Since your photos are already in iCloud, you can access them directly on your SSD-connected device by logging into iCloud via a web browser. This way, you can download batches of photos with their metadata intact.

Instead of transferring directly from the iPad, consider transferring photos from iCloud to the SSD using a computer (PC or Mac). This can be done by logging into iCloud on a computer browser and downloading the photos to the SSD.

I ve logged to my icloud,i select a photo, but i do not see the option to download directly to my T7 ssd. Yes i noticed 3 options for quality of download, but this downloadd where ?? And option to share, also this will not help me.

But i do not think this is the right step. As said before i do not have pc/ mac.

Sorry i am unfamiliar with this.

Can it harm, one of the devices, when i connect iphone12 with SSD directly ?

of it won t work at all ? I ve a lightning to usb-c cable.
