I've signed up for the trial (which I view on my Smart TV) as I had expected to be able to access the apps that are available through Apple TV, in particular Zwift which can be streamed on Apple TV. But when I log into the Apple TV+ app on my TV I don't get access to a library or any other apps. Am I misunderstanding what Apple TV+ is?
There are 2 Apps offered by Apple.
Apple TV and Apple TV+.(note the plus)
The Apple TV app provides access to Apple TV+ subscription content, and access to the iTunes Store and your own Purchased Library.
The Apple TV+ app only offers access to the Apple TV+ subscription content.
If your TV only supports the Apple TV+ app, then you won't have access to your iTunes Library or the iTunes Store.
Also note, the Apple TV apps do not support other apps, like Zwift. That is a stand alone app, and would need to be supported directly by your TV and installed on it to access its content. The Apple TV app has nothing to do with it.

That would only apply to the Zwift app on the Apple TV box, which offers much more than the Apple TV app or Apple TV+ app on a smart TV or 3rd party streaming device.
