Well, now you are telling us something very different from your original post. Please provide us with specifics so we can evaluate what is happening and then respond. I further suggest that you download and install EtreCheck. it is free. Run it and allow full disk access. Then post the results below under. Additional text. It will give us a comprehensive overview of what is going on in your computer.

My computer is 90% inoperable. I can not get on any site, Finder, System Preferences, canʻt do anything or download anything!😭 I thought our computers were protected as well. NOT!
Try booting into safe mode.
Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support
Malware is possible to be downloaded from some web sites. You can either ignore their pop up messages or download and install the Malwarebytes app. It is free and safe. Running it periodically will rid your computer of any malware. Otherwise Macs are safe from any virus. They cannot affect your computer.
Just a wild guess, but are you seeing lots of pop-up notifications in the upper-right-hand corner of your screen, telling you about these "viruses"?
You might want to see if the description in this User Tip sounds familiar.

THANK YOU BobTheFisherman for giving me specific instructions on how to operate in Safe Mode! It is working great now!
You are welcome. You likely inadvertently installed something on your Mac that became part of the startup process. Running in safe mode often corrects such an issue. The other posts provided were also possibilities for correcting the issue or at least for identifying the issue if the safe boot did not work. Troubleshooting is sometimes a process of incremental steps.
