Voice memo on imessage

I have been fighting my iphone for a week now after their latest update.

When sending a text message, there was this red voice memo icon to the right and sometimes after sending a text, it would just start recording.

Apple seemed to have no solution.

The verizon store where I got the phone had no clue.

I finally stumbled on a way to get rid of it.

In addition to my standard English KB, I went Settings, General, Keyboard and added a French keyboard.

The red voice memo icon went away.

Then I went back and removed the French keyboard and the red voice memo is still not there.

Somehow, added that 2nd keyboard triggered something in the system.

Just posting in case anyone else is having that issue.
