How do I set a default photos library

After restarting my computer, I start photos and ask to select a Photos library. I only have one. So I select the library and I'm able to use it without a problem as long as I don't. As long as I don't restart my computer, Photos opens at Library without an issue. It seems to forget what is my default library after restart. How may I fix this?

I just recently migrated from an Intel power book to an M3 power book. Everything seems to have gone fine with a few tweaks here and there, except for this. How am I fix this?

Have you already made your Photos Library your System Photos Library? If not, launch Photos on your Library, then go to the menu "Photos > Settings (or Preferences ) and in the "General" tab click "Use as System Photos Library" if it is not yet dimmed.

Where is your library stored?

Photos can lose the connection to the System Photos Library, if the library is on an external drive and this drive is not always mounted while you are signed into your user account. Also, Photos 9 on macOS 14 Sonoma may not open a library, if it is on an incompatible drive. Any external drive should be prepared exactly as described here: Move your Photos library to save space on your Mac - Apple Support
