iPad Pro Connectors

Having trouble with my iPad Pro 11" smart connectors. Have tried everything even a complete reset still smart connectors not working. Bought a new magic keyboard thinking it was the issue...nope still no connection. Apple support said they had no ideas and told me to take it in..Our one Apple store here is HORRIBLE..you make an appointment and go and usually a long line. We waited two hours last time and all they said was leave the laptop and we will send it off...so am I out of luck anyone out there with the same issue?

Remove the iPad from the Keyboard - and carefully/gently clean the smart connector contacts on both the iPad and keyboard with a soft pencil eraser (a drafting-film eraser is ideal). Ensure that the contacts on both iPad and keyboard are dirt and dust free - and all debris from the eraser have been removed - before reconnecting the two.

If you need to visit the Genius Bar, it is often recommended that you make an appointment - in particular when it is likely to be busy. Making an appointment serves two purposes:

1) this shortens the waiting time when the store is busy - as those with an appointment will be prioritised before walk-in customers.

2) having an appointment ensures that the technician will be able to dedicate time to addressing your issue.

Did clean the connectors several times...

We did make an appointment and walked in for it and was told the wait was 2 hours and to get in line...

The problem started right after the last big update...we erased the pad and started over from scratch...still nothing...we are taking it to a third party repair shop..our apple store is HORRIBLE...not waiting 2 hours after we made an appointment..and from what we could tell they just say, we have to send it off...no one seemed happy

Be aware that if your iPad has a fault - and is repaired by anyone other than Apple or its network of Authorised Service Providers (AASP) - any parts used will not be OEM parts of Apple origin. You will also forfeit any future hardware/repair support from Apple or AASP network.

Apple will not attempt to resolve any issues that may be caused by third-party repairers.

Well Apple store is a joke so we are pretty much left with this as a only option...and a iPad pro that is just a few years old, that has been very well cared for...should not be having this issue...had we not purchased another magic keyboard we would of thought it was the keyboard...but it is not...I was on with apple support for 2 1/2 hours with the only option was to take it in or send if off

That is the problem here, you look for authorized contractors for Apple and the only thing within 95 miles of us is Apple. Our Best Buy shut down a year ago. You would think with a population of half a million there would be somewhere else other than the one Apple Store. Yes we have looked yes we reached out to Apple. The only other option is to send it in. But if the repair is more than a couple hundred and used sells for 250 why repair it? Sad apple products do not hold up anymore
