Why is it that when I try to get Siri to make a call someone on my contacts list it is asking for me to enter my password?

Two things:

  • Check setting at Settings > Siri & Search > Allow Siri when Locked. This should be on.
  • Reset the voice recognition used by Siri. This is done by going to Settings > Siri & Search > Listen for Hey Siri and turning the switch off, then turning it back on. This will allow you to set up your voice again with Siri. Access to personal information such as contacts can only be done when Siri recognizes the voice as yours.
