I forgot my password, I answered everything they asked except they are asking for a credit card # that I cancelled a couple years ago. How can I get beyond that point?

I was trying to input a new payment method on my iPhone 13 Pro. I had to sign in to the app store but I forgot the password. I clicked forgot password and the system started asking different types of questions which I answered. They sent codes to my phone as well as email and they were verified. It then tells me to input information for a credit card I canceled a while ago. Therefore I could not give them the card #. So now I have to wait 3 days while they verify my account.

I am not seeing the issue here. You have to wait 3 days. Apple (like many companies) is tightening security in this digital age.


If you find you can’t sign in, reset your password, or receive verification codes, you can request account recovery [maybe you're at this stage already?] (read this support article: How to use account recovery when you can’t reset your Apple ID password - Apple Support ) to regain access to your account. Account recovery might take a few days or longer, depending on the specific account information you can provide to verify your identity.
