Advice on product

I am going to have to replace my MacBook Pro of the following spec

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) - 2.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 - 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 - Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

I cannot, sadly, afford another MacBook Pro as looking to spend max of £1200

I use it mainly for photos (general, not heavy editing) and betting sites(casino)

Not tech savvy, so recommendations please - what performance will I lose or has new technology mitigated the loss

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.7

For simply photo editing and using betting sites a MacBook Air is good enough. With the newest generation of MacBook Air (M2 chip) you will even get a better performance then on your old MacBook Pro thanks to apple silicon.

Many thanks. Can you suggest spec i should go for - i do have 2TB of cloud space for photos, of which I have 28,000.

Also, if I use time machine back up, can I just connect that to my new Mac - will it upload everything including my additional users?
