Battery Life dropped after upgrading to 17.1.2

Battery Life on my device changed immediately after I upgraded to 17.1.2.

Days before the upgrade the battery would last 1.5 / 2 days (depending on usage i could even get 3 days on a charge).

The day of and since the upgrade the battery does not even last 24 hours

  • Full charge at 10AM (minimal use the last few days)
  • Turns off over night ( I am estimating 12-15 hours life)

I've read the articles about batter life not being dependent on OS version and how to improve batter life etc.

But this feels like it 100% linked to the upgrade.

At this point considering moving back to Android!!!

You will also get decreasing battery life on android because dropping battery health is related to battery usage. Not to iOS upgrades. When you use a battery, eventually the battery health will decline, due to the chemical processes in the battery when charging it. There is no way around it.

There is no need to worry about decreasing battery health. If the battery health drops to 80% the battery is severely depleted and eligible for a replacement

Thank you for the information, but feels like you are missing the point.

My battery was fine prior to the upgrade and the day of and the days after upgrading

Battery life has gone from days to hours!

Max capacity is 89% which was lasting 2/3 days

Now I don't even get a full day with max 1 hour usage.

My annoyance is I also have a 5 year old android and the battery lasts 3/4 days with 4/5 hour solid usage.
