Steelseries Nimbus controller can't connect to new Apple TV (tvOS 17.1)

I had previously bought a Steelseries Nimbus Controller in 2020. I also had gotten an Apple TV 4K then.

At that time I could connect the controller to the Apple TV (discoverable and selectable in bluetooth devices).

Was using the controller quite recently (maybe a month ago), no problems.

Got a new Apple TV 4K (updated to tvOS 17.1), gave away the 2020 Apple TV to a friend. Now the same Nimbus Controller is not even discoverable as a bluetooth device. Tried multiple times and even charged up the controller but to no avail. It is still not discoverable under bluetooth devices.
