New iphone set up for 12yr old child and family sharing

Assuming you signed in with your Apple ID onto your daughter's new iPhone, sign out on her phone by selecting your Apple ID in Settings. Then, scroll down to the Sign Out label and select it. Note: This may be a good step even if you did sign in with your daughter's Apple ID.

Next, set up a new Apple ID for your daughter by going to Sign In with your Apple ID and selecting "Create Your Apple ID” at the top of the page to set up a new one. Enter the information for your daughter including phone number, e-mail, etc.

Once this is done, have her sign in with the new Apple ID on her phone. Right now, her Apple ID is not part of the Family, so go on to the next step to see what’s next.

Set up Family Sharing by going to your device and following these steps:

Set up Family Sharing

• Go to Settings and select your Apple ID
• Scroll down to Family Sharing and select it
• Then tap Set Up Your Family
• Follow the onscreen instructions for setting up and managing the Apple IDs linked to this Family
• Make sure to add your daughter’s new Apple ID to the Family

Once all these steps are complete, the new iPhone should be set up properly under your Apple ID and subject to the parental controls that are available under Family Sharing.
