I don't want my phone number deactivated. How do I stop that happening?

It seems to be connected to my email address which I no longer use.

iPhone 13, iOS 16

Removing phone number from account No longer have access to phone that has the number I would like to remove so I can't turn off imessage or facetime.

Apparently “it” refers to iMessage and/or FaceTime. If that’s true, then read and follow the article linked above.
