Missing Downloads folder and no option to create new file

My Mac Downloads folder is missing. When I "Go" to "Downloads" an error pops up stating "The operation can't be completed because the item can't be found". In "File", "New Folder" option cannot be used (it is pale/inactive). What should I try next? I'm Sonoma 14.1. Thanks!

Missing download folder on mac My Macbook air Catalina (2020). Is missing the download folder. I can't access download folder. If I download something it disappears and I can't find it. I don't know how to fix it. Anyone know? Look at the photos. I have missing downloads from school that I still might need. And this was the download folder I made and it didn't work.

Sidebar Missing in Finder I rebooted my Mac yesterday to discover that Sidebar (with all my favorite folders) is missing - as too is the 'Create New Folder' on the bottom. I've tried all the obvious options on the menus - without success. Of note, View>Show Sidebar option is grey so I can't select it! (iMac Ventura 13.2.1). Any ideas? Thank you!
