Using Apple Pay on MacBook without double click touch ID.

I am using OS Sonoma 14.1.2 and Safari 17.1.2 on an MBA M1 laptop. I do not use Touch ID. Each time I attempt to pay for something using Apple Pay via Safari, it requires double clicking on a Touch ID. How can I use my Apple Pay on Safari without Touch ID?

Apple pay doesn't work on Safari Just wanted to express my frustration with Apple Support on the phone today. Apple pay works on my watch and my iPhone with no problem. I wanted to make a purchase from the online apple store but when the apple pay button came, it started to request confirmation say by touch ID and stopped. I called and was shuttled from advisor to advisor for about three hours. One even sent me to the banking people to make sure my apple card was good even after I explained it worked with my watch and my hone but not on my M2 Macbook Pro on my Mac. The Apple Pay person suggested I go to another browser where there was no problem but didn't solve my problem on Safari. The Safari person said he was not qualified to do apple pay. All a waste of time. No solution requested, just venting my frustration.

Apple Pay not working on Safari v16.5.2, macOS Ventura v13.4.1 I'm using Safari v16.5.2, Mac OS Ventura 13.4.1 on MacBook Air with Apple silicon (M2 chip). My wallet is setup correctly and a credit has been added. However, when I use Apple Pay to pay using safari, the rotating circle shows processing on the popup window but then it stops and nothing happens. I have tried with TouchID and without the finger on TouchID, but result is same, Apple Pay does not process, and no action except "cancel" can be chosen on the pop-up window. Same situation on different websites. Note that I can use ApplePay on my iPhone without any problems. Any ideas, how to fix this issue? I have tried to look at Apple Support but can't find anything. Thanks.

Apple Pay not working properly on Safari on Mac We tried to use the Apple Pay payment option to call up the authorization payment pop-up window, but after the loading state ended, the fingerprint unlocking part disappeared and fingerprint payment authorization could not be performed normally. What might be the cause of this? How can it be solved and investigated? Because no relevant information was found in the Apple developer documentation.
