Apple Maps- Delete Pinned Place in ‘My Places’

Is there a way to now delete a pinned location in Apple Maps? This location is listed under ‘My Places’ in the Apple Maps app. I have attached a screenshot of the pinned location that cannot be deleted.

Open Maps app on iOS >> Swipe Up from bottom section of map, You’ll see this listed under ‘My Guides.

Please check your maps and try your solution before jumping in with a wrong answer. This appears to be a simple problem and I can assure you it’s not linked to significant locations. and it has been a prickly issue since 2012.

iPhone 11 Pro Max, iOS 17

[SOLVED]

Update on this issue and hopping it will help others. I managed to solve this issue using maps on my MacBook Pro. I believe this should work out on iPhone as well. Here is what I did to solve the problem;

On MacBook Pro

  1. Open Maps app and drop a pin anywhere on the map
  2. Open My Places under My Guides
  3. Add the new pinned place (created in step 1) to ‘My Places’
  4. On Mac right click on the old pin and select ‘Remove from Guide’
  5. Repeat step 5 to delete the remaining pinned place.

On iPhone

  1. Open maps
  2. Swipe up to reveal ‘My Guides’
  3. Select ‘My Places’ and swipe up to reveal the menu at the bottom of you iPhone screen as shown below
  4. Click the ‘+’button to the right to add a pinned location
  5. Follow the prompts and save the location
  6. Now, select the ‘Edit’ button to reveal radio buttons on the LHS of each location.
  7. Select the radio buttons for each location to reveal blue tick mark.
  8. Click Delete (the one in red, you won’t miss it😂) on the bottom right menu and you are done.

Your maps will now show ‘0 Places’ in ‘My Places’ as shown below

I hope this will help others who have been having this problem.
