Iphone 15 with Aux Cable

I have an older car and have used an aux cable to connect my iPhone 11 to my car stereo for years. It works great for music, audiobooks, phone calls, everything. I recently upgraded to an iPhone 15. Now the USB C to Aux cable works for music, audiobooks, anything i want to listen to. It even works for Siri and voice to text. But with phone calls, I can hear the caller but they can't hear me. It seems to shut off the microphone.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a similar situation, older vehicle, an inexpensive combo cable USB and 3.5 MM audio on one end (power and audio) and lightning on other end worked with my iPhone 8 plus for years. Recently bought iPhone 15 Pro Max and a USB C connector for cable above and doesn't work at all. (Connected/paired via Bluetooth as well). I plan to try USB C to audio, but really need power as well for things like Nav, podcasts etc.)

If I resolve I will repost.
