What computer is this?
What exactly are you drag from where to where?
Please post the beginning of the crash log.
Every time the application crashes or hangs trash the settings. Hold Opt-Cmd as you double click the library to launch the application.
iMac, 3.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5.
Drag a .mov file from finder window to project in Final Cut Pro. Been doing like this always. Make video with iPhone. send to Mac then drag to FCP.

Whenever the application crashes you must delete its preferences. To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting FCP X and click Delete Preferences. The application will start in a default state, and open an “Untitled” library.
Reopen the library you were working on, set the preferences the way you like them, and try again.
If the problem persists: Please run Etrecheck and post its full report here.
Use the “additional text” button and paste the report into the text box.
Update.
Deleting preference did not work. Still Crashing. I tried importing then dragging files from within FCP, when I insert file into the bottom pane (apologies I don't know the name), but it's where you edit the project. When I drag a file there, FCP 10.7 crashes.
Unfortunately I don't have a backup to revert to the preview version of FCP.
The report is too long to share here. I will share a bit of it.

Thank you Tom. I appreciate the help. I'm not familiar with EtreCheck and I'm almost sure the fix needs to come from Apple. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Something is broken in FCP 10.7. All was fine until this update.

Thank you very much. That solved it.
If you have backups revert to an earlier version of the application.
It would help it know what application specific function is causing the crash.
Thank you John.
Could you do the EtreCheck report Luis mentioned? It might shows if there’s something in the software that might be causing this.
