Windows server and kernel task

I immediately apologize for the stupid questions. I just bought a mac mini yesterday and am using mac os for the first time.

I found in the monitoring system. why do they consume so many resources? and why does the panel at the bottom indicate that the CPU consumption is only 10 percent?

Mac WindowServer randomly starts hogging CPU I have a 2017 Macbook running Monterrey 12.5 (cant update because it's a company laptop) connected to 4 external monitors. Usually it runs well but randomly it will suddenly slow down to a crawl and my cursor becomes beachballs as if a background process kicked off and took all the CPU. Running "top" shows WindowServer shot up to 50% or more CPU. WindowServer usually consumes low CPU so I can't figure out why the WindowServer process decides to suddenly up the CPU usage when no new tabs/processes have started. How can I find what triggers WindowServer to spike cpu usage randomly? I've run "log stream --predicate '(process == "WindowServer")' --debug" but what I see ("surface is not detached, CoreDisplay is detached") shows up regardless of whether the CPU is being hogged or not. How can I troubleshoot further why WindowServer randomly kicks in and hogs the CPU?

My kernel_task is going crazy. What can I do? Dear community, the fan of my Mac mini was going 100% all the time. Now I installed Macs Fan Control and here I could make the fan go automatically based on the average CPU temperature. Silence at last! But for some reason my kernel_task does not seam to like it. In the Activity monitor it is constantly using more than 700% of the CPU. I know that is odd, but it really seems to use something like 65% of my resources. Still a lot. What can I do?Thanks for any help, Boris

No need to Apologize, it can be confusing, but...

kernel task runs everything, & Windows server runs the front end for all GUI things.

The top CPU% is treating 100& as 1 core, so Quad core i7 would top out @ 400% or 800% counting virtual cores.

The bottom where yours adds up to 10% treats the sum of all cores as 100%
