I have an app that when I try to add it’s appointments to my calendar gives me a message that says Calendar Access Denied. You can enable access in Privacy Settings. However, when I go into my settings, that particular app is not listed. How do I get the app to request permissions? Or add that app myself?

Update: I updated to the latest software (17.4) and it's working right again. Apple must've seen these posts and fixed the glitch.

Delete the app and re-install it. When you launch it again, you should be prompted to grant access.
Updated SW to 17.4 and it works now.
I had this same problem - here it is July 2024. I'm on iOS 17.5.1 - Things 3 couldn't access Calendar or Reminders. I had to reboot the phone to fix it. Feels like many tiny bugs like this recently.
Try uninstalling the calendar app, restart your phone then reinstall the calendar app. If that doesn’t work, restart your phone again. Good luck!

You should restart your phone frequently, at least once a week. While it is called an iPhone, what you have is actually a very powerful, very small computer that can incidentally make phone calls. And like all computers, it will get wonky at times, and need to be restarted.

Open the app. when it displays a message requesting access there should be a button in the message to go to the privacy setting. If you don’t see that contact the app developer, as that is how it is supposed to work.
Faced same issue, apparently is solved on lates iOS version 17.5.1
An app must attempt to access the calendar before it will appear in privacy settings. The app designer must include a feature to add to or access the calendar; if the app designer doesn’t then there is no way to make it.
Go to Settings/Privacy & Security/Calendars and you should see the app there. I won’t appear until the app requests access to the calendar.
Have you updated to 17.4.1?
After adding an event on LinkedIn, you do get asked if you want to add the event to your calendar on the app.
It seems a little odd that so many apps seem to have this problem, which makes me kind of think it might be something with iOS 17, unless we're all trying to use the same app. I'm trying to use Yelp, anybody else?
