Reducing iCloud space used
Is there an easier way to free up icloud space than first downloading copies of files then deleting them from iCloud?

If you have old iCloud Backups of old iPhones or iPads that you no longer have and no longer have any need the backup, you can free up iCloud space by deleting those backups. See information in Manage your iCloud storage - Apple Support
