After I insert an image or text box the text outside of the box, following the box sets at a wider line space than the text line space before/above the image. The inspector remains set at 1 for line spacing. This is Pages 13.1 with no slider. If this is a bug, how do I return to using the previous version of Pages? I am in th middle of composing a long article and don't have time to play with software.
Try this. Drag downward to select all text surrounding your image and text box. Set Spacing Lines to 1. All of the lines in the following Pages v13.2 document (Sonoma 14.2) are set to that value. I also set the text fit around the objects to 7 pt, though that is arbitrary choice.
Apple does not have a provision for retreating to older Pages versions and I believe what I have shared should retire that need.
Thank you Viking 0SX. Your suggestion gives me good detail and I will try it. In the meantime, I have answered my own question. The setting for space following a paragraph was not holding to the setting of 1. Now I watch more carefully to see if settings are changing to accommodate what is occurring on the page. I think they are and I view this as a "bug" in Pages 13.1. which appears to be the latest version.

The current version of Pages is v13.2, but if you are on macOS Monterey (12.*), you can only update to Pages v13.1. Pages v13.2 requires macOS Ventura (13.*) or later.
I just updated to Sonoma and Pages 13.2. I usually don't keep my computer on at night so don't automatically receive the updates. Sometimes I don't like the new OS.
