Typing bubbles don’t stop appearing next to contact

I have a contact in my text messages, mind you, there’s no messages in this thread, and the 3 typing bubbles appears 24:7. Then when I click the thread and go back out the thread disappears, but then reappears with the typing bubbles after quitting the app. Anyone know why that might be or what is happening?
