I wish to delete two Apple IDs

I have three Apple ID's and wish to delete two that I no longer use. How do I go about this? From various sources, I have been warned off it as it could cause problems. To my mind I can't see why. Any advice would be most welcome.

For information about how to delete an Apple ID account, read this support article —> How to delete your Apple ID account - Apple Support

Carefully and thoroughly read that article for information about what happens when you delete your Apple ID account. For example:

"Make sure that you sign out of all your devices to avoid issues with apps that use your Apple ID account or iCloud. After your account is deleted, you can't sign out of iCloud or turn off Find My iPhone Activation Lock on your devices. If you forget to sign out, you might not be able to use your device when your account is deleted."

Loss of data is a concern, but maybe not the top one if you suddenly find that your computer, iPad and iPhone no longer "belong" to you. ;-) Also a concern is if you have purchased apps or media with the accounts. You cannot transfer ownership to another account. If this is the case, look into sharing with yourself: To learn how to set up Family Sharing, read this support article --> Set up Family Sharing - Apple Support

These requests too often proceed from “delete! delete! delete it all!” to “why is my iPad permanently locked and thoroughly bricked?” or “why can’t I recover access to {whatever}?” or some other tale of woe.

These Apple IDs are causing no issues for you, so set them to a robust password, and leave them.

If in some distant future, you need a spare Apple ID because you’re then planning to run some beta for instance, or need to set up some email you don't want mixed with your main login, or whatever, you have two. Or if you happen to forget some tie-in with some device or account that you now need access to again, you still have that access.

You may want to log into each account periodically. If an account is dormant for too long, Apple may remove it.

Legal - iCloud - Apple

VII. B "In addition, Apple may terminate your Account upon 30 days’ prior notice via email to the address associated with your Account if (a) your Account has been inactive for one (1) year; or (b) there is a general discontinuance of the Service or any part thereof."
