Hi! How can I move a project from the newer version of Final Cut Pro to an older version? I need to export it to XML instead of XMLD, as DaVinci won't be able to open the xmld file otherwise. Thanks!

I think that version 10.6.8 can still export in version 1.9 XML, which produces a .fcpxml file.
When you do
File->Export XML...
there are two versions that you can choose. If the options are 1.10 and 1.9, choose 1.9. That gives you an actual .fcxml file, not .fcpxmld

FCP10.7:
1. Select library → File →Export XML
2. Specify storage location →Source:Library, Metadata display:General, XML version:Current version 1.11(FCP10.6.10 is supported) →Save
3. XML is created
FCP10.6.10:
4. Create new library
5. Change properties of new library →SDR or HDR
6. Library selection →File →Load →XML
7. Select XML file
8.Keep both *If there are duplicate files, "Keep both" is recommended.

I don’t have DVR and I don’t know which versions it supports. However: the xmld file is just a bundle, and contains an actual info.fcpxml file inside.
To access it, control-click the .fcpxmld bundle in Finder and choose Show Package Contents.
Option-drag to copy the info.fcpxml file somewhere else, and bring it DVR.
In DVR make sure you are in the Edit tab.
Control-click in the Media Pool and select Timelines>Import>AAF/EDL/XML . . .
It works in DVR 18.5 using an .xmld 1.10 from FCP 10.7 so you should be OK.
Don't use 1.11
Just realised you are on DVR 18 . . . maybe that won't accept XML 1.10 but all you need to do is update DVR.
Thank you very much, but unfortunately, I don't think info.fcpxml works, I have DVR 17 and 18, both don't work. I have fcp 10.5. 4 version, it exports XML, but I have edited the film on FCP 10.6.8, it only exports xmld.
