Updates are they a battery replacement fundraiser?

Both me and my partner have Apple phones the latest update has killed both our batteries. We’ve been loyal customers for a very long time and I would describe this service shabby at best which is so sad as it used to be the best. Will be looking at swapping to the dark side now as we have reached our limit.

iOS updates generally aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. Battery issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

This seems purely coincidental so please check the Setting on your device. --> Prolong and Maximise Battery Performance … - Apple Community

See what each update does: About iOS 17 Updates, About iOS 16 Updates, About iOS 15 Updates, About iOS 14 Updates, About iOS 13 Updates, About iOS 12 Updates, and so on...

I disagree with you that this is “coincidence” as I’ve also checked online before posting and many other apple customers across different types of IPhone format are having battery issues. We upgraded our phones on different days and overnight both our batteries died without use. This is anything but a coincidence - it is however bad customer service which isn’t helped by gaslighting us when we complain.
