I got an HDMI to USB-C cable to connect my MacBook Air (m1 2020, Sonoma 14.1.2) to my Samsung series 6 TV. I change the input on the TV to the HDMI source but no signal is detected by the TV. Thanks for any help.

I would first recheck the connection at each end of the cable. Next reconfirm which input is selected in the TV and confirm that it is the same as the physical input. If everything checks ok, then only Samsung can help you. It is their product.
... when I plug the cable into the Mac and the TV, it shows both displays when I go into settings. I unplug the cable and the Samsung icon disappears. So the TV is detected by my Mac but no signal seems to be detected by the TV.
Hi and thanks for the reply. I have checked the connection and it seems to detect the TV. When I go into settings and select Display, it shows the Samsung. When I unplug the cable, the Samsung is no longer showing. I guess you're right about getting help from Samsung but my first tries with them was futile. Thanks again.
