Audio problems after IOS 17.1 17.2 update

Most of the music apps on my iPhone have begun to randomly "Pause" since the last IOS updates. (17.1 & 17.2)

I listen to music and podcasts on my phone. After updating to IOS 17 I've encountered a random problem with the phone "Pausing" audio playback whenever the screen is off. My normal listening habit is to use an app to tune into an internet radio stream and listen through earbuds. Once the music or news program begins I push the side button to make the screen go black, and then put the phone in my pocket. This has worked fine for years. Since updating the phone will work normally but then suddenly decide to "Pause" the audio playback. If I pull the phone out of my pocket and turn the screen back on and then press the play button the audio resumes. If I turn the screen off the audio stops. If I leave the screen on the audio plays for perhaps 30 seconds, then the screen turns itself off, and the audio stops. The only "Fix" is to turn my phone off and re-boot. Sometimes I have to "Re-boot" once or twice a day. Sometimes I have to "Re-boot" every few hours. I've searched the internet for a solution, and can't find a fix that works.

How do I get my phone to function normally without having to resort to powering it off and rebooting?

My podcasts or “popped out” YouTube videos pause every time I search on Safari. I feel like this is an auto play issue but I've disabled every auto play setting I can find. Still happens. Or maybe it's bc the results page has videos which automatically show previews. Started about a week ago. Recently updated to iOS 17.3.1. It’s very frustrating as I frequently browse while listening to/watching something.
