After updating my iPhone 15 to iOS 17.2 my iPhone is overheating in a way I’ve never seen before.
Also when plugged on my car. Quite abnormal to be honest.
I thought that the overheating issue was already resolved.
iPhone 15 Plus, iOS 17
While traveling in car, had iPhone 15 plugged into auxiliary plug to listen to music. Also used to use Maps navigation. (I was not driving.) After 45 minutes, got black screen and prompt, “iPhone overheated and would not be charging until cool.” Phone was soooo hot. Reported to Apple and they said, Turn down screen brightness and don’t use phone when plugged in. Have never had this issue with my other iPhones. Then Apple support said was issue they were working to resolve.
My iPhone 15 ProMax is getting heated up as well as massive battery drain after updating to 17.2.
Before this update, I will be usually left with 40% charge at the end of the day but now I am left with less than 10%.
Exact same issue. Phone gets super hot, won’t charge all the way due to overheating, and battery drains rapidly. Phone remains hot even when off. Only time it cools down is when the battery drains completely. Also can’t make calls…no one can hear me. Not sure if it’s related but issue started at the same time.
My iPhone 15 Pro also keeps getting abnormally really hot on 17.2 while charging or simply browsing. Nothing running in background. Please stop ignoring this Apple and launch a fix asap. NEVER had an iPhone do this, Ever.
I was looking for fix, consumption of demand is less, A17 Pro is useless over powered. I will not run a rocket engine heavy software on a phone. Mobile shouldn't be made for that.
Its heating and needed to underpower.
My iPhone 15 pro overheated today while using the camera app outside. We were only outside (92 degrees in Florida) for 20-30 minutes. No other apps were open. I’ve never had an issue like this before.
I see, I’m not the only one with this issue. Exactly what you said, it get hot on the screen around volume buttons location. Top left corner of the screen.
I have 15 plus, I’m not an active phone user. For 10h a day it just sit on the desk. When at the gym or walk I listen to audiobooks, but recently after few min of vido call my battery drained down 15%. I didn’t have this issue before, and I only charge phone to 80% to extend the battery life. Phone should not get this hot by just using it for few minutes even by just watching wideo and not holding it in hand it get noticeable HOT.
Same problem here. My iPhone 15 pro max won’t stop overheating constantly. Then it stops charging. Never had a problem with any other iPhone in the past. Sucks that you spend so much money on a phone and it has these problems. The updates didn’t help either. Sucks!’n
Me too, my iPhone 15 pro max work fine before IOS 17.2 update. After update my phone overheating even I use the 20w original apple charger, app's power drain faster than before too.

Yes. After this update. My 15 pro max gets hot even just doing normal browsing. Need a quick update to fix it.
Same here, never ever had an iPhone getting this warm.
It’s a nice hand warmer now, but when summer comes, I will not be as appreciative 😜
Mine is 12 mini but it heats up as it is going to blast any moment after new update 17.2.1
Mine as well iphone 14 pro. Before update to 17.2.1 it doesnt heat up while browsing. After update it heats up.
I have been wanting to upgrade from iPhone 11 pro to 15 pro but because of the overheating issues I might just wait for the iPhone 16 pro.
yes i'm also facing the same (iphone15) while using camera its getting over much heat , even using apps also , need a quick solution for this issue
