Apple Warranty Started Already

I am interested in purchasing a new MacBook Pro M2. After receiving a few quotations, I am in the process of finalizing my decision. Given the significant cost, especially for residents in Pakistan, I requested the seller to provide pictures of the MacBook box.

Upon receiving the images, I checked the Serial number on checkcoverage.apple.com. It revealed that the warranty had already commenced in October 2023 and, with the AppleCare, it is set to conclude on the 23rd of October 2026. This has left me in a state of confusion regarding whether or not I should proceed with the purchase. Additionally, the box in the picture appears to be sealed with the Apple logo.

It's worth noting that unfortunately, we do not have any Apple store or authorized dealers in my city.

Your insights on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Can I reasonably conclude that this purchase is safe? I have an additional question. The seller provided me with pictures of a couple of other variants' boxes for m2 and m3 pro, and upon checking the coverage for those two products, it indicated that the warranty has not started yet and is in good standing.

Apple starts the warranty period when the device is shipped to the original buyer, so I am assuming you are buying from third party resellers. That is Apple's policy. If you are buying from an authorized reseller, the purchase and warranty days can be adjusted, but the original date of sale is not adjusted from third party sellers.

You'd better check with Apple to make sure the store you are wanting to buy from is ok; we are all other users here, do not work for Apple, and Apple doed not participate here. As well, we are located around the world and have no specific knowledge about a store in a foreign country (I am based in the US) and cannot speak for Apple - we only have the info announced by them.
