I want to see the sender’s name but NOT the context of the message when I receive a text

I have an iPhone 11 with the latest version of IOS. I used to be able to receive iMessage notifications which showed the name of the sender but not the message. Now, it won’t reveal the name OR the message. How would I change my settings so that the message is private but I can still see the name of who sent the text?

I started having this problem recently. I'd gotten an Apple Watch and messed around with notification settings. It's not obvious how to fix it. So in "Notifications" make sure you've selected "List" not "Count" or "Stack." Once I switched back to "List" I started seeing who the text was from but not the message itself.
