my CD player which connected to USB port on my former Mac will no work on the new MacBook Pro through the USB C Slim Multiport with there net adaptor. Message USB Accessory Needs Power, Connect Apple USB to USB port on this Mac.....aparently Apple doesnt know they no longer have a USB port on this Mac the MacBookPro.... Do Ineed to purchase a New CD Player? This truly sucks Brand New 4 G machine and it will not preform basic function

Sounds like an old USB...CD player
this is the only adapter I ever needed going from old machine to a new machine..
I would try a different cable, a different adapter and go direct to the Mac and compare your results
Maybe this is your issue—what exactly is this "USB C Slim Multiport with there net adaptor"...
off brand, third party, cheap(?) I have no idea.
