Sonoma causes problems for safari +

I am using a MacBook Pro 16 inch, 2019, with 2,3Ghz eight kernel Intel core i9 processor, Graphic card Intel UHD Graphics 630, 1536 MB and memory 16GB 2667 MHz DDR4.

Having installed OS Sonoma I can no longer use the safari browser as it breaks up and flickers. I am using Chrome to send this as Chrome is stable.

Furthermore I can no longer access my Cannon printer which used to be in the dock, with a printer icon, now replaced by a question mark. I have to access the printer through System settings.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 14.2
