If I purchase an iPhone 15 in USA, will it work in Australia when I return home?

If I purchase a new iPhone 15 / 15 Pro while in the United States, will it work in Australia? When I return to Australia and move my SIM card to the new phone, will it work? Are there other steps I need to consider?

iPhone SE, iOS 14

You should not purchase an iPhone outside its country of use. Here are just a few reasons.

  • The iPhone cannot be repaired at an Apple approved facility outside its country of purchase.
  • AppleCare is not valid outside its country of purchase.
  • iPhones from the U.S. only accept eSIM. There is no SIM card capability.
  • The iPhone model actually differs between the countries.
