Mom's iMac is slow.

Question

(2017 3Ghz Quad Core Intel Core i5). 8GB (memory used 4.44 cache files 3.30)

What needs to done? I don’t think buying a new computer will solve the problem(that is her idea)

I second dialabrain's suggestion. Please install and run Etrecheck and post a report here so me may see what is going on with the Mac.

Depending of many factors 8GB of RAM at this point may be too little. Is the iMac a 27" or 21.5" model?

The 27" model can have its ram upgraded easily via a panel on the back.
