Screenshot App overlay does not go away

12/14/23 – Ever since updating to OS Sonoma 14.1.2 the Screenshot App overlay does not disappear after capturing the shot. I'm using a MacBook Pro with M1 chip. The only way to remove the overlay is to restart the computer. Is there a problem with the app? The options available within it do not show a remedy. Thank you.
