Will ‘Journal’ app be available for Mac books and iPads?

Will the app ‘Journal’ available in iPhone, be available in MacBook and iPads with auto syncing features?

I need a feature that adds time to the journal entries whenever I add or edit them. Will this feature be available in any time soon?

Was actually thrilled to see the journal app pop up initially. As naturally, i assumed it would also be available on Macs/ipads... Quite honestly what is the point if you can't use it between your devices??

Once again feels like no logical thinking was applied for functionality for their customers.

We don't want to do everything on our phones. In fact the less stuff we are forced to do on them the better.
Dedicating a small amount of time and space to sit down and do things like this on my laptop with focus and clarity is what i want.

Who is this "we" you think you are speaking for? It doesn't include me. I prefer doing journal entries on my iPhone as I almost always have it with me. It's good to keep in mind that not everyone has the same needs or wants that you do.

Not get more lost into our already devouring mobile devices. Depleting more of our social capacities.

Um, yeah, right.

Please just make it accessible between our devices... it can obviously be done as Apple has countless apps capable of this....

Apple doesn't read here in this user-to-user technical support forum for feedback or suggestions. You can, however, let them know your thoughts here:

Meanwhile, there are hundreds (thousands?) of other Journal applications that work across Macs, iPads and iPhones. My favorite is Day One.

You could also use notes. Or Pages. Keeping a journal doesn't require a specialized app.

I was really excited when ‘Journal’ came out but then disappointed it’s not available on iPad or Mac books. I can hardly get excited about pecking out my thoughts on my phone keyboard. Any idea when it will be available for iPad or Mac book?

No one here in this user-to-user forum would know when or even if Apple plans on making Journal available on any other device. You can let Apple know what you'd like to see here:

Meanwhile, there are many, far better options that will work on iPhones, iPads and Macs. I recommend Day One.

I need it on Mac. Why don't we have it across all devices?

Only Apple could answer that question. And they have, so far, not given a reason.

Meanwhile, there are lots of journal applications that do work across all Apple devices. And of course, there's always Notes.

Just sent request to Apple feedback asking for Journal on other Apple OS platforms and for Journal to have an import feature too.

I too was exited about the Journal app. For someone who has never started a diary before it's OK but for those who are heavily invest in one, not having cross platform or import support is a deal breaker.

Day One is awesome. Can't recommend it highly enough.

I'm new to the Macbook, but I've been using an iPhone for more than two years. I love the Journal app very much, but I would love to see my journals in My Mac Book. Additionally, Journal has some beautiful features, like picking up photos from the gallery and suggesting I write something. I appreciate the app's behavior.

Meanwhile, there are lots of other jounal apps out there. My favorite, Day One, even uses Apple's journaling prompts. All the ones I've ever played with let you pick photos from your Photos app.

I was excited to hear about the Journal app, but assumed it could be used across devices via iCloud. For me, it's almost pointless to use it until it does. It doesn't look like it's something that will come to MacOS anytime soon, maybe not even iPadOS, which is confounding. I guess I'm sort of glad that it won't be a DayOne-killer, and I'll just stick to that app, which works seamlessly between devices and actually can patch into the Journal AI capabilities, so yeah.

When the Journal app appeared on my iPhone my first thought was that journal entries without a keyboard would be a laborious task. I am not GenZ, born with typing thumbs and practiced from the crib. I can however type with a keyboard...being a baby boomer.

I'm a baby boomer and have no problems typing on a phone. It's a matter of preference and practice, not age.

I also find dication to be very useful.
