Dragging & Dropping Not Working

Can anyone please advise why dragging and dropping objects such as files, folders, aliases from one place to another in Finder is not working on my brand new M2 Macbook? (Ventura)

I'm having to cut/paste to move things.

I've checked everything I read about such as SpringLoad under accessibility, rebooted etc. Can't seem to find a clear answer after searching.

Thanks.

If you have never used the newer Apple laptops with the new style haptic feedback trackpads, then this can be difficult to master. It seems to require just a certain amount of pressure to engage or it will result in failure. I've failed to master it so I just turn off "Force click and Haptic Feedback" option in the Trackpad System Settings.
