cannot re-connect to podcast subscription

I recently setup a new iPad. As I realised later, it happened to be on the day one of my podcast subscriptions renewed, and before I had setup my wallet (I assumed my cards would automatically be transferred over).

As a result (I think - I can't explain it otherwise) payment was attempted from an old expired credit card.

I had subscribed to the podcast on the Patreon website - and that's where I fixed the problem.

However, now I do not see the subscriber only episodes (which is basically ALL of them) in Apple Podcasts, on ANY of my devices. I can only access them via the Patreon website.

Apple's help (Get and manage your Apple Podcasts Subscriptions – Apple Support (AU)) says:

1. Open the Apple Podcasts app on your iPhone, iPad or Mac.
2. Find the podcast or channel you want to connect to.
3. Tap or click "Already a Subscriber?"
4. Follow the onscreen instructions to connect your account.

But I do not see "Already a subscriber" anywhere.

The subscription does not show up in the subscriptions list in Podcasts.

I have tried unfollowing and re-following the show, but I never get the option to either subscribe or click "Already a Subscriber?".
