Bluetooth interference

When my Apple Watch is connected to my iPhone via Bluetooth, my iphone will receive messages silently even though my iPhone isn’t on silent mode. Once I deactivate Bluetooth on my watch, I’ll get my messages delivered normally. Why is that? Please help.

That’s a feature; if you are wearing the watch and have wrist detection turned on it will alert texts on the watch rather than the phone to avoid duplicate notifications.
