Why do I have an Apple charge of $37.99?

I actually figured this out and wanted to share the info for future googlers but was unable to comment on the old posts. For me it was the audible credit bundle that I use Apple Pay to pay for, not a subscription. If you're struggling to figure it out type the amount you're being billed into your emails omitting reference to Apple and see what comes up.
