Spotlight not showing applications after reindexing using all methods

Spotlight has stopped showing applications on my iMac Pro (not functioning in Monterey or Ventura, I have not yet upgraded to Sonoma)

I tried to Rebuild the Spotlight index on your Mac - Apple Support multiple times over the past year. placing the whole local hard drive in the do not index list, just the applications folder, and then I followed the instructions restarting between each step.

I upgraded to Monterey, followed steps to reindex and nothing.

I upgraded to Ventura, followed steps and most times spotlight would not reindex, but finally got the reindexing after a couple of attempts (and doing the restart between steps).

Also, I had previously only selected applications, folders, and documents of various types selected. In all of these recent attempts I have assured all boxes checked, it appears that I get every other category showing results in spotlight, but still not applications.

I have double checked before posting this that in my last reindexing that I had indeed left nothing in the spotlight privacy...

I did the method using terminal, it reindexed, but applications still not showing.

I tried again using the add applications folder to Spotlight privacy, restart, remove it, restart, it reindexed, and still no dice.

I am at a loss, is there some other setting that effects spotlight that I am missing?

iMac Pro, macOS 13.6
