As for emergency use, I would suggest a GPS+Cellular model, assuming your carrier supports it. That way you can use the SOS feature even if your iPhone is not nearby. See:

(All models support emergency SOS, especially if your iPhone is nearby. It is the price and other features that may determine which model is right for you.)
As far as getting attacked, there are no built-in features (other than SOS) within watchOS. There may be third-party apps from the App Store that may help.
