Ever since I updated my iPhone 12 Pro Max to iOS 17.2, the font size adjustment settings on my Books app got too large, to the point that the setting with the smallest font size is still TOO large

I hope they fix it as soon as possible. It's extremely difficult to read books using the Apple Books app, when the minimum font size selection being too big.

Ugh, this minimum font size change is present in iPadOS 17.3 as well. I've sent in a bug report. Hopefully this is an unintentional change.
I seem to remember something similar a few years ago that took a version or two to get noticed and reverted.

Close the app and force restart:
Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch – Apple Support (AU)
Force restart iPhone – Apple Support (AU)
You could also offload the app and download it again (offloading retains documents and data).
