Apple Watch compass off 180degrees

I have location services on and the compass on my iPhone works properly. Watch compass is reversed. This issue has appeared here previously but I have not found an answer.

To calibrate compass, go outdoors so the Watch can "see" the gps satellites then wave your arm around in a figure-of-8. Same with the iphone.
