Macbook Pro connects with Samsung soundbar, but no sound using Apple Super Drive

Just got a new Macbook Pro M3. I connected the Apple USB Super Drive that I bought last year, using an Apple USB to USB-C adapter. When going to play CDs on my Samsung soundbar (HW-E450, 12? years old); my Macbook will connect via Bluetooth, but there is no sound, and I can't select/advance from the CD. I am able to play other things from the Macbook to the Samsung soundbar & TV, with things like Apple Music and YouTube TV. So I wonder what's up with not being able to play things from the Super Drive. Any help is appreciated!
