Apple TV users have an Apple ID account. This account has the form of an email address and it has a password. Accounts have user information like name, DoB, country (state), and a valid payment method.
Users should have at least several emails from Apple in their Inbox.
Subscriptions, if any, are linked to that Apple ID account. See your subscriptions overview - Apple. This is best managed on an Apple device (iPhone, iPad, Mac), or else on a Windows PC with the iTunes application. Select subscriptions can also be managed on third party devices with the Apple TV app. The renewal date (fee payment date) for subscriptions is listed with each subscription.
Apple ID accounts can (and should) have two-factor authentication, to authenticate new logins. A verification code would be send to a trusted Apple device, or else to a trusted phone number as provided for that account. This info on your trusted devices and phone numbers can be found on the Apple ID website, after signing in there.
