Syncing subfolders in Outlook on a Mac and IPhone

Previous threads showed how to synch ‘drafts’, ‘sent’ subfolders but most critically did not show how to sync ‘received’ messages which I have organized into subfolders . How do you do that, as it is not an option

iPhone 15 Pro Max, iOS 17

In a POP account you cannot create additional folders on one device and expect them to sync to another one. POP mail does not reside on the server and only resides on the device it is downloaded to. For example, if you create a folder on your laptop with a POP account it is only on that device. When your device gets you mail with a POP account, then it downloads that mail to that device, and normally deletes it from the server at that point. I would check to see if your email provider has IMAP mail, and if so you can then sync your mail across all devices you wish to see your mail on. Only your provider can tell you if they support IMAP mail.

If your account in Outlook is an IMAP account, the folders are stored on the server, so subfolders that you have created should sync automatically to your Mac and iPhone. How they display can be modified by going to the Mail app, the main page, then tap edit and select the inboxes you wish to show. Then below that list should be the accounts you have on the device, and if you tap on the arrow to the right, it should display your folder list there and you can select a folder there. But I'm not aware of a way to always display more folders than your inboxes. That is for the iPhone using the default Mail app. Using the Outlook app may differ. I do not use it so I could not comment on that. Also, the Mac could be different, I'm not using one.
