add family sharing to email account

Hi I have set up family sharing and share my iCloud+ subscription with my son. This has always worked with no issues until recently I purchased a new iPhone 15 for my son (I have 14). Now his phone says his storage is full and can no longer receive or send emails. Both our phones show he is part of the family group and that I have shared the subscription. There is also over 50% storage remaining. Any help would be great - he is expecting an urgent email and I don’t want to pay again unnecessarily. Thank you

What email service is he using exactly?

Unless he is using an iCloud email for this, the iCloud Storage would not have anything to do with it.

You can check his iCloud Storage at Settings ➜ Apple ID ➜ iCloud ➜ Manage Account Storage.

If he is using iCloud email and the shared storage does not appear there then you may need to go to Settings ➜ Apple ID ➜ Media & Purchases and make sure he is logged in with the Apple ID the storage is shared with.

Do not use your own Apple ID there, only his.

Yes. Log him out and in again at Settings ➜ Apple ID ➜ Media & Purchases see if that refreshed the iCloud Storage.

Thank you for your reply. Yes it’s an iCloud account and he is logged in to his Apple ID. Unfortunately we have checked all of those things. Maybe I’ll try logging him out and in again.
