My Mac OS is not supported for upgrades. Do I need to buy a new Mac?

I have Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7

Unable to download the latest update. Do I have to buy a new Mac?

Thanks! You are correct! Your Mac cannot be upgraded, but I'm glad we checked.


If your Mac still works for you, there's no need to upgrade. However, macOS Catalina is not receiving updates anymore, and Apple does consider your Mac to be obsolete, according to this Apple Support article: Obtaining service for your Apple product after an expired warranty - Apple Support.
